IFF Dubai
Dubai hosts the annual Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, former Dubai deputy ruler and Emirate Council member launched the Dubai International Film Camp in 2004. The festival screens approximately 2,000 films from 80 countries to over 200,000 guests. The 14th DIFF included 230 international films, shorts, and TV shows in 2013
Cityscape Global
This event Cityscape Global is the MENA region’s leading real estate and infrastructure business event. ‘Cityscape Global’ is a global forum for discussing real estate and infrastructure investment opportunities and an annual platform for international investors to meet with leading developers, investors, and government officials.
GITEX
“GITEX” is the largest technology event in the region and one of the most important events for global business. It is scheduled to happen annually at Dubai World Trade Centre for the whole week. GITEX will take place from October 16-22.
Motor Show
The Dubai International Convention Centre hosts Dubai’s biggest event, the Motor Show, each November (DICC). It showcases automobile design and innovation.
Over 200,000 people worldwide attend the three-day show to see the latest cars from automotive manufacturers and designers.
The Dubai Mall Ice Rink
The Dubai Mall Ice Rink is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. It’s open from November 25 to January 5, so there’s still plenty of time to check it out if you consider visiting Dubai in the winter.
Beach Polo Cup Dubai
How to get there: The event will be held at Dubai Sports City, located next to the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Khalifa in International Media Production Zone (IMPZ). Take the metro (red line) from anywhere in Dubai and get off at the World Trade Centre station. Then catch a taxi on Al Sufouh Road for about 15 minutes to IMPZ, where you’ll find Beach Polo Cup Dubai next door to Emirates Golf Club.
Dubai World Championship
The Dubai World Championship is a series of horse races held yearly at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since 1996, it has been the richest race day on the global racing calendar and has been dubbed “the world’s richest two minutes.”
Dubai Shopping Festival
The Dubai Shopping Festival is an annual event that lasts for two weeks each year, usually in January or February. It’s one of the most popular times to visit Dubai, as merchants offer incredible discounts on their merchandise and many stores open later than normal. The dates for this year’s festival have yet to be announced, but you can expect it sometime between January 25 and February 15.
DP World Tour Championship, Dubai
The DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, is an annual golf tournament on the European Tour. It’s held at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai and was founded in 2000. It’s a 72-hole stroke play event from November 7 to 11 every year.
Dubai Marathon
The Dubai Marathon is the world’s most popular marathon, attracting more than 40,000 runners from over 120 countries. It takes place in November, with a men’s race of 42km and a women’s race of 21km. The marathon is not only open to professional athletes but also amateurs. It’s the only race that allows anyone over 15 years old (with no age limit) to enter.
Events in Dubai
Dubai hosts many events year-round. Festivals, fairs, concerts, and sports events occur. The Dubai Mall, Deira City Centre, Skydive Dubai, and Beach Park host many prominent events.
Dubai’s most popular event is the annual Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup horse race at Meydan Racecourse in March or April during the Dubai World Cup Carnival. The $10 million Godolphin Mile is international flat racing’s highest prize money payout (G1).
