Dubai Museum

No transportation is needed at the museum. It’s near several Dubai tourist attractions. Taxi or bus travel is best. However, traffic bottlenecks from people visiting different parts of town may make a cab unsuitable for traveling with children.

If you prefer Uber or Lyft to taxis, you can use them on vacation. There aren’t many parking lots nearby, and street parking isn’t always free either (especially during peak times). It’s crucial to plan and have backup plans in case something goes wrong on your vacation!

Burj Khalifa

Dubai’s major tourist attraction is the Burj Khalifa, one of the world’s most recognizable towers.

You can see Dubai and Abu Dhabi from the observation deck on the 124th level, but you’ll need to book tickets for The Dubai Fountain performance separately.

Lower floors have many eateries and businesses!

Dubai Aquarium Underwater Zoo

The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo have around 1 million aquatic species. Its 500-foot aquarium tank is the world’s largest! The aquarium was erected on top of a shark cage and houses some scary-looking species you can swim with (don’t touch).

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum founded the aquarium/zoo to make Dubai a Middle Eastern environmental leader. The aquarium lets visitors easily see marine life above and below water.

Ski Dubai

The world’s largest indoor ski resort, Ski Dubai, holds 3,000 people. Since 2005, the Mall of the Emirates has offered over 20 skiing slopes, including a beginners’ run, snowboard park, and halfpipe. The resort has held international tournaments like the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

Wild Wadi Waterpark

Middle East’s largest water park is Wild WadiTM. Its spectacular slides include a 50-meter ride (164 feet). The park also has rapids and a whirlpool adventure river.

Wild Wadi Water ParkTM costs $50 per person or $80 with lunch. Taxi or bus from Dubai Marina metro station. Summer hours are 10 am–6 pm, winter hours are 10 am–8 pm, and spring break and summer holidays are 11 am–7 pm. Check before visiting! Visit Wild Wadi Water ParkTM on weekdays instead of weekends to avoid lines for your favorite slide, although you might want to do more than just lounge around. Instead, rent kayaks ($12/hour/$20 deposit)!

Old Souk Al Bahar and Gold Souk

Dubai Creek hosts Old Souk Al Bahar and Gold Souk. Take the metro to Bur Dubai from the nearest station. The creek separates the Old Souk from the Gold Souk. A new pedestrian bridge or underpass tunnel leads to these two shopping centers.

Since most Muslims pray on Fridays, it’s the least busy shopping time. The rest of the week, people browse stores and buy cheap jewelry and clothes (and if you’re a tourist, they’ll sell them even cheaper).

Miracle Garden

Miracle Garden, a botanical garden, features over 500 plant, flower, and tree species. Visitors can also see birds, butterflies, and fish at the Miracle Garden. Dubai Festival City, a major tourist destination, houses the park.

Other tourist attractions include Burj Al Arab Hotel, a helipad for private jets, and Palm Tree Island, a palm-shaped island surrounded by waterfalls and man-made beaches where you may relax with friends or family. And Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a beachfront property with premium condos and an excellent private beach.

IMG Worlds of Adventure

Dubai Parks and Resorts, a family-friendly complex with an indoor ski resort, waterpark, and aquarium, features the world’s largest theme park. IMG Worlds of Adventure has over 30 rides, including the Falcon’s Fury, the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster, The Drop, and a 41-meter drop (Drop of Doom).
